Safety Program

Safety is our number one priority in all aspects of our work. Safety is everyone's job. Our safety programs are designed to protect our customers, our employees and the general public. For us there are no compromises when it comes to safety. We have regularly scheduled safety meetings to maintain a high level of worker safety awareness. CAL/OSHA requires the construction industry to hold tailgate safety meetings every ten working days and that tunneling crews hold meetings at least weekly. The meetings are intended to keep workers alerted to the potential hazards they could encounter in the course of their work.

To make our safety meetings more valuable to our workers, we choose topics that are relevant to their current job activities or to the job site. At the start of each meeting, the important points are highlighted and conveyed to the employees. The subject is presented in clear and simple fashion to insure that all employees understand the relevance and importance of the discussion. Workers are encouraged to ask questions, participate in the presentation and to become involved in the discussions.

Demonstrations and visual aids are used to make the safety meetings informative, engaging and interesting for participants. Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and to take an active part in maintaining a safe workplace for themselves, for customers and for the public at large.
